“For the Lord Gives wisdom and from His mouth come knowledge and understanding…” (V6)
An understanding of His ways and the discovery of His purposes are part of God’s treasure He has given us. (Prov 2:6-10) The search for knowledge requires effort. You must seek it like a treasure that is precious to you. You cannot touch God’s knowledge, however, without diligence and exertion.
Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge (Prov 23:12) “My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you…” (Prov 2:1-5)
“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established, through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures…” (Prov 24:3-6) Building a house and waging war require great effort. They do not just happen. The same is true for storing up things. Removing treasures from the earth is arduous and time – consuming. Wells must be drilled before oil can be pumped from the depths of the earth.
Knowledge must always precede action or much time and effort will be wasted through misguided efforts and dead-end directions. God, who planned your life and granted you the potential to fulfill His plans works for and with you when you seek to know Him and to understand and follow His ways (Myles Munroe),
PRAYER LINE: Gracious Father, grant me the wisdom and the knowledge to apply the wisdom to achieve my purpose in life. Amen.
