“Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem. For the Lord has comforted His people. He has redeemed Jerusalem” (Isa 52:9)

The prophet again shows that breaking forth into joy is a choice. Choose to break forth with joy and singing. Keep breaking forth. Do not let your flesh get heavy and sit down on you. You always have joy when you walk in the spirit rather than in the flesh

It is not always easy to have joy to laugh and be hilarious. But break forth into joy, and it will become easy. Don’t allow others to make you feel ashamed of being joyful and happy. Some Christians are so religious that they think you have to be downhearted and solemn all the time. They confuse seriousness with spirituality; you can laugh your way out of hurt. We need to be open to this method of healing and answered prayer. You can laugh and cry at the same time, but when you are finished, you will be free. King David prayed;

“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways and sinners shall be converted unto thee” (Ps 57:12-13) King David knew that leading transgressors and sinners into the way of the Lord required joy on his part. Even when circumstances look tough, joy causes you to understand that you already have the victory which calls for rejoicing. (Robert Hardon)

PRAYER LINE: Consider the passage above as you pray. You always have joy when you walk in the spirit than in the flesh. Your joy shall be full in Jesus’ name. Amen

For lasting joy, put God’s will first.
