LIGHT UP YOUR WORLD 2 Timothy 1:3-7
‘For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
Just as God has a plan for our life, we need to take responsibility for implementing His plan. Each of us faces the challenge of allowing life to sweep us along, or dropping anchor whilst we take a view and work with God to shape our life the best we can. Here at Waverley Abbey College we have many students who, once adrift on a sea of uncertainty, have chosen a course of study as the means to shape their life and make themselves better able to serve God’s purpose. Maybe, a course of study might help you find your destiny.
When managing our life we must take time to pray, personally and with others, work at becoming a glass half full person. Wholeheartedness is to travel with hope alive. It is the devil who wants to saddle us with despondency, where we find our spirit is continually at a low ebb. In facing up to this we will do well to take some time reflecting on what’s behind us.
In truth, all our yesterdays are history and whilst we are products of that history, we don’t need to remain prisoners. We will need to find courage to live in freedom, the courage born of faith in a God who has promised to be with us up to and beyond the end of the age.
Once we have taken stock of our own situation, made peace with both ourselves and God, we are well placed to look to the needs of others and through acts of kindness and service begin to light up our world with the love of God. Choose to be an ambassador of hope this year and live every day with Jesus.
