A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE                                    1 Chronicles 22:19

Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.  (v19)

When David began preparation for building the temple, he ordered the leaders to devote their hearts to seeking the Lord, an essential component of preparing for the wholehearted worship that was to take place in the temple.

When I think of a sacrifice of praise, I think of the word embrace.  Embracing the will of God even when the feelings aren’t there. Is offering to God your heart wholly dedicated in His purposes. It is believing that according to Romans 12:1-2 which says; (1) “Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship (2) Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will (Encouragement Bible), you can prove in practice that God’s plan for you is “good, pleasing and perfect.

Such praise will cost you, yes. There’s no denying that. But – oh, the worth of those words you offer your Lord – Joni Eareckson Tada.

PRAYER LINE:  Praise God with a song of ascent

Those who trust in the LORD, Are like Mount Zion Which cannot be moved, but abides forever As the mountain surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever (Psalm 125:1-2)
