SPEAKING BOLDLY, FORCED TO FLEE                                 Acts 14:1-7

So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands. (v3)

The spread of the Gospel is a Satan and that is why he attacks God’s children. The experience of Apostle Paul and Barnabas at Iconium was quite interesting and full of lessons for believers living in hostile communities. Their work was fruitful as a great number of Jews and Gentiles believed. As they spoke boldly for the Lord, the people confirmed that the presence of the Holy Spirit was with them, which enabled them to do miraculous signs and wonders. Yet, certain Jews refused to believe, they stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the apostles and the new converts. This growing of evil men planned to mistreat and stone them but their plan was discovered through  the help of the Holy Spirit, and as a result the apostles fled to other cities. Paul and Barnabas’ experience shows there will always be mixed reactions to the Gospel, even with the backing and presence of God. Miracles not withstanding, not everyone will believe or be converted. Let us sow the seed of good news wherever we have the opportunity and leave the Holy Spirit to convince and finish the task. Ensure that you are in tune with the Holy Spirit at all times so that He can reveal to you the step to take at every given time. By this, you will be guided from falling prey of the devil’s schemes. Decide to spend considerable time ministering to others until they are positively affected.

PRAYER LINE:  Father Lord, back up Your word in my mouth with signs and wonders. (NBC)

God does not always change our circumstances, but He will change us.
