“I will not give what has cost me nothing” (2 Sam 24:24

(1) Give the first and Best. God not only deserves our first and best gifts – throughout the pages of Scripture we can see that He demands it. God asked Abraham to offer his precious son, and it was Isaac that Abraham willingly offered. Yahweh God chose Moses to deliver His people and His message was very dear “The Lord was the first of everything – the first of everything King David, that sweet singer of Israel and a man after God’s own heart, knew his heavenly Father well enough to resolve, ‘I will not give what has not cost me nothing.

(2) Give in Recognition of the Law of Sowing and Reaping “ for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Gal. 6:7b) The law of sowing and reaping is as universal as gravity, as relentless as friction, and as inevitable as death and taxes. The Scriptures declare in Ps 126:5-6 Those who sow in tears, shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bring his sheaves with him. Read (Lk 6:36-38). Dr. Roberts states that while giving is referred to once, the blessing that comes from the act of giving is referred to seven times. (1) it shall be given (2) Unto you (3)good measure (4) pressed down (5) shaken together (6) running over (7) shall men give into your bosom.

(3) Give from a Heart of love. (2 Cor 9:7) “Cheerful giver, “we know that the last thing He would ever want would be for us to give grudgingly or of necessity. In Gen. 26:12 KJV) “Then Isaac sowed in that land and received in the same year a hundred fold. (Benny Hinn)
