“Do not fear, go and do as you have said’’ (V13)

A man or woman who is filled with fear cannot discern the voice of God. (1kgs 17) contains the story of the widow of Zarephath. The account describes the arrival of Elijah and his encounter with the widow as she was gathering sticks. He asked her for a little water to drink. As she was going to get his water, he said, “oh, by the way, bring me a morsel of bread, too.” She began to tell him how she and her son had nothing to eat. She went on to explain that she was just about to prepare a final meal for her son and herself. She planned to use the remaining meal in the bottom of her meal barrel and the little oil which she had left to bake a cake which she and her son would eat before they died.

“And Elijah said unto her, fear not; go and do as thou hast said; but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The Barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth…” (1kgs 17:13-16) As long as she acted in fear, she faced death and destruction. But when she defeated fear and responded in faith, she and her son were blessed with life (Benny Hinn)

PRAYER LINE: Grant unto me O, Lord the wisdom to move on and trust You when You say to me fear not. Praise Your Holy name.
