Since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by his life (V10 NLT)

God wants to be your best friend. God is your Creator and Maker, Lord and Master, Judge, Redeemer, Father, Saviour, and much more. (Ps 95:6; 136:3; Jn13:13, Jude 1:4; 1Jn 3:1; Isa 33:22; 47:4) We were made to live in God’s continual presence, but after the fall, that ideal relationship was lost. Moses and Abraham were called “Friends of (God)” David was called “a man after God’s own heart, and Job, Enock and Noah had intimate friendship with God (Exo 33:11; 17; 2Chro 20:7; Isa41:8; Jas 2:23; Acts 13:22; Gen6:8; 5:22)

Becoming A best friend of God: (1) Through constant conversation. Friendship with God is built by sharing all your life experiences with Him. You can carry on a conversation (continuous) open-ended with Him throughout the day talking with Him about whatever you are doing or thinking at that moment. “Pray without ceasing (1Thes. 5:17) (2) Through continual meditation the second way to establish a friendship with God is by thinking about His Word throughout the day (Ps 23:4; 142:5; 145:5 Josh 1:8 The reason why God considerd Job and David His close friends was that they valued His Word above everything else. God told Abraham His secrets, and He did the same with Daniel, Paul, the disciples, and other friends (Gen 18:17, Dan 2:19; 1Cor2:7-10) (Rick Warren)
